Human Resource Manager-Cuyahoga Falls Library

Classification: Human Resource Manager
Work: Part-time (20-24 hours per week)
Wages: $18.51 – $22.16 /hour, limited benefits
Supervisor: Fiscal Officer

Reporting to the Fiscal Officer, the part time Human Resources Manager will ensure the organization complies with federal, state, local, industry labor and safety laws and policies. Work with the library management team to develop strategies and best practices to support the organization’s long-term strategic growth.

-Assist in developing strategies and procedures to attract, hire and retain personnel as well as onboarding
-Oversee employee benefits administration
-Work with department heads to determine what training employees need and overall workforce development
-Review and refresh Human Resource policies, procedures, employee job descriptions
-Establish an employee performance evaluation process
-Coordinate practicum, intern, and work study student schedules
-Contribute to establishing a corporate culture that helps support the organization’s mission, vision and business plan

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in business, management or public administration with a minimum of two year’s human resources experience, non-profit and/or library background preferred. Experience working in a union environment. Knowledge of Library policies and procedures, Library laws and regulations, state and federal employment laws. Ability to communicate effectively in written and oral form, prepare accurate and concise reports, resolve problems, develop and maintain effective working relationship with Board of Trustees, Director, library employees and applicable community organizations, maintain confidentiality.
