HUMAN RESOURCE ASSISTANT

Full-time position in the Human Resource Department in the Administrative offices. This position involves performing a wide variety of tasks providing clerical support to the Human Resource Director. Duties include: oversees the recruitment process by advertising, interviewing and recommending potential employees to Human Resource Director; interfaces with staff by addressing a variety of questions regarding benefits, medical and personal leaves, FMLA, etc.; oversees the posting of jobs internally, maintains a record of internal bidders, and provides orientation and training for staff development; completes various salary surveys; transcribes meeting notes; handles all employee accident reports and Workers Compensation claims, attending BWC hearings as needed; maintains employee files and various logs related to applicants, employees’ leaves, and OSHA; has experience in the payroll process; assists in keeping the Human Resource Dept. in legal compliance.
Hours of work will generally be Monday through Friday. Traveling to the other 14 branches in the Mahoning County library system is required occasionally.
Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree with at least one year of experience in human resources. Excellent attention to detail, while managing multiple projects. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Superior problem-solving and organizational skills. Strong computer/technology skills. Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
Starting wage is $31,700.00 per year with an excellent fringe benefit package which includes pension plan with the Ohio Public Employees Retirement System.
